This Larimar lay undiscovered in the heart of a Volcano until an earthquake shook it loose and sent the brilliant blue stones tumbling downstream. Discovered in a river in the remote province of Barahona in the Dominican Republic, the rare blue gem was named Larimar, from the Spanish word of ocean, 'mar'.
