The ulu is a traditional knife used by the Alaskan Eskimos for the last 4,000 years. Originally, the blades were made of jade, slate or bone. This 440 surgical grade stainless steel blade should be treated as any other fine cutlery and washed by hand with warm soapy water and dried promptly.

This handle is made of Alaska Diamond Willow which is naturally beautiful and highly sought after wood. It has creamy colored sapwood, a reddish colored heartwood, and diamond-shaped formations around the base of the smaller branches. This Diamond Willow comes from Cooper Center, the most famous source in Alaska.

The world record time for processing a whole salmon using an ulu is 27 seconds!   a quality addition to any professional knife collection and a great gift to anyone who spends time in the kitchen.

Made in Alaska.
