Experience Ultimate Versatility With a Ulu Knife

An Ulu knife features a classic crescent blade for cutting, slicing, and chopping. The edge of the traditional Alaskan Ulu knife is attached to a contoured handle that makes it comfortable and easy to use with one hand.

Ulu Knife Uses

Thanks to their unique shape, Ulu knife blades are ideal for mincing ingredients quickly and efficiently. They provide a clean, even cut.

  • Razor sharp
  • Durable design
  • Custom leather sheath
  • Comfortable handle
  • Premium Damascus steel blades

Ideal for Skinning, Chopping, and Cutting

The wide, curved blade makes it incredibly easy to chop herbs and cut veggies, meat, and fish. Using a Ulu knife takes a little practice, but it's a skill worth mastering. Ulu knives can dice ingredients faster and more precisely than an average chef's knife.

The contours of the Ulu make them perfect for chopping in bowls or on boards. The curve is just right for making clean cuts and exceptionally soft foods like peeled fruits.

How to Use a Ulu Knife

If you're used to handling Western-style knives, getting to grips with a traditional Inuit knife can be challenging. But once you're accustomed to the distinctive crescent shape and rounded handle, you'll reach for it whenever you're in the kitchen, camping, or hunting.

Unlike a traditional knife, an Alaskan ulu knife is a slicing machine. It’s the perfect substitute for many other knives we look to have in our kitchen. Made from Damascus steel, carefully designed with a beveled edge, and with an ergonomic push handle that will allow you to cut, mince and slice any ingredient with ease and precision.

Each ulu includes a leather sheath and Olive Wood ulu stand.

Proper Care Tips:

  • Do not store knives in the leather sheath/leather roll for long periods of time.
  • After use, wash in warm soapy water and dry immediately.
  • Use cooking oil to coat the blade before storing.

If rust appears, rub the blade with a metal polish or a very fine steel wool, then oil the blade.
