The ulu is a traditional knife used by the Alaskan Eskimos for the last 4,000 years! Originally, the blades were made of jade, slate, or bone. This fine Stainless Steel blade should be treated as any other fine cutlery and washed by hand with warm soapy water and dried promptly.

This handle is made of fossil walrus jawbone. These fossil bones were found by and purchased from Siberian Yupik Eskimo on Saint Lawrence Island, Alaska.

The world record time for processing a whole salmon using an ulu is 27 seconds!
