These hand-carved fossil mammoth ivory whale tail earrings are set with rhodium-plated sterling silver french hooks and are accented with green nephrite jade. A beautiful reminder of your Alaska trip, or a small token of good luck, as whale tails have often been associated with luck and joy.

Prehistoric woolly mammoth ivory is found in the cold northern regions of Alaska, Canada, Russia, and Siberia, and may range in age from 10,000 to 200,000 years. Natural colors may include cream, tan, chocolate, or caramel brown, depending on where the material was buried, and for how many tens of thousands of years.
